This email is probably coming as a surprise to all of you! they switched up our schedule because of the influx of missionaries coming into the Mtc, so my P-day will now be on Mondays! Atleast for today and next monday, the next Monday I will be on a plane to France! Wild huh?! Time is cruising! So yes just 14 days left here at the MTC, it is so important for me and the other missionaries to stay here mentally. The Lord called us here for 6 weeks and nothing shorter, so we are going to give Him 6 solid weeks!
The past few days 3 of the girls in our district have been sick!! Soeur B and Soeur Fortuna with the Flu, and Soeur Russell with a killer cold! It has been so sad! They are all starting to come around thankfully, but it looks like it might be passing on to the rest of us now... ahh! I can't afford to be out of order so I'm pounding the vitamin c and hoping it skips me, but I'm kinda feeling like that is wishful thinking right now!
Dang I wish you all could've have seen what happened the other night haha.. Soeur Russell took some cold mediceine, the bright orange kind and she knocked it off her desk onto the floor, no big deal, she puts in back on her desk and throws a book or something and it knocked it off again! This time it went EVERYWHERE all over the chairs, books wall and people haha! So nasty, stick orange cold medicine was everywhere, it was classic! We spent the evening scrubbing the room down good, lovely eh?! I'm getting super close to all the sister in my district, I'm going to be so sad to say bye to them in 2 weeks!! but i'm excited for the next step!
The french is coming family! It is hard, and is a slow process for me, but it is good! I am humbled everyday as I try and fail, and try and fail and try and succeed! Sister Bonnie Oscarson ( the new young womens president) came and spoke to us for relief society on sunday! I got to meet her after, she is amazing, she will do great things! At the begining of her talk she shared the story of when she was asked to be the new President. She said she was sitting in Thomas S Monsons office infront of Him, and His 2 Counselors, she said President Monson asked her and the first thing she said was " I don't know how" haha... Prsiedent Monson repilied with his cute smile saying :" Well of course you dont know how Sister Oscarson, we just called you" This reply bring me such relief! Of course I don't know everything I need to know as a missionary just yet, I am only a month in haha! I just htought that was darling!
Last night we had a devotional by Stephen B allen, He is the director of the Missionary Department. He was aweosme, so funny, but so powerful! He said that with all the good works going on in the world satan is getting ticked. He said, " Let there be no mistake, this is war". His talk was on how satan knows all of our buttons, and how we can;t let satan push those buttons! In sacrament our Branch President, President Barker shared a story about his little grandson that I thought went great with the devotional. He said that his grandson is on a little league baseball team and they were walking in to a tournament, their opponents chose to warm up in the batting cages right at the entrance of the field as a intimidation factor. Their choach hurled fast balls at the and the little leaguers crushed them! But come game time President Barkers grandson struck out the batters, one after another becasue they failed to adjust to the off speed pitch. They didn';t recognize the need to adjust. That is is the key to success! Recognizing the need to adjust. When satan starts puching our buttons, we have to adjust! I just thought it was a good little analogy, plus it was on baseball so that didn't hurt:)!
This week has kind of been a blur? Time is flying and all the days mix up into one! Know that I am so happy to be here serving the Lord. As much as I miss all of you and would die to hug those sweet little kids back home, I know this is where I am supposed to be. I love our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ so much. I realize more everyday that I am not here just to share this happiness that "I" have, but to bring others unto Christ because that is what "HE" wants. I know without about that this church is true, I love you all more than you know and wish you the best of luck this week!! Thank again for all of you prayers and support!!!
Love Soeur Kupfer!!!
