Little part of Toulon
letter from Africa!
Bonjour!!
This week was Monster week all throughout our mission! We had challenges each day and specific studies and some days our hours of work changed! It was so amazing! We are dead haha, but it is the best feeling ever!
We saw somereally neat things every single day. One day we were challenged to hand out 5 Book Of Mormons, we ended up handing out the last one to a man we see everyday in the last 5 minutes of proselyting time. One day was family day and we were to port every single door in family dense areas. No one was loving us haha... So we decided wewould just starting singing " Ensemble a tout jamais" " Families Can Be Together Forever" right off the bat when they opened the doors. We didnt find our family that we were looking for, but we made a lot of people smile and worked with a good attitude when it wasnt easy!! We did end up contacting the nicest family i have ever contacted in france on the rue as we were heading to another apartment. It was a mother father and their son. The mother (about 40) told us that her friend gave her a Book of Mormon when she was 20. This lady practically quoted Moronis promise at the end and said, "but I never really read it so i cant say it isnt true". We gave her one, I pray this woman will read it this time. Coupled between all of these really good days I had one of the hardest days of my mission yet. I cant go into a lot of details, but people were just not loving us! It just goes to show that darkness exists, but we can choose wether or not we will rest in the darkness, or impearse ourselves in the Light of Christ!
Some really sad news about Efoma, wewent to her house and it sounds like she watch some anit mormon program that was on tv here. She had so many doubts, so many problems that were so far from the truth. We testified of the simple trught and there was power in our simple words. We are going to see if we can meet with her again this week.
We do have a great new ami that I will tellyou more about next week. Her name is Melanie, she is 18 years old and is a members friend! She has had such a hard life and is not in good living conditions at the moment. She came to church this past sunday and it was her 2nd time in a church in her entire life. She has no base of relgion, she is finding God. At the end of our first lesson with her we invited her to pray, reluctantly she said her first real prayer ever. I cant express the feeling that was in the room and my heart. Can you imagine Heavenly Father hearing the voice of His little girl for the first time. It brings tears to my eyes imagining that. I am so humbled to be teaching her as she is on this journey of finding her Father. I love my mission! I love you all!
